As a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with architects to translate their vision into images that not only document, but also communicate the story of a space. Photography and architecture share a unique dialogue: one shapes environments, the other interprets them. In this interview, I sit down with BCAE Architects (@bcae_architects), whose work I’ve had the opportunity to capture, to talk about the collaboration between architect and photographer, the challenges and rewards of seeing a project through another lens, and how images can extend the life of a design beyond the built environment.
Q1:
Why did you want to work with me?
BCAE:
We love your relaxed nature. We hate having photos taken, but its been easy to build that relaxed environment. Also we love the quality of the images and style.
Q2:
Did you know what type of shots you wanted ahead of contacting me or were you looking for ideas?
BCAE:
We knew we wanted them to look relaxed, but you has helped us develop a studio style.
Q3: How did you find working with me?
BCAE:
Working with you has been relaxed and completely stress-free. Your flexibility has been key - especially since we’re usually very last-minute and need things turned around quickly.
Q4:
Would you recommend me?
BCAE:
100%. It's amazing the amount of photos we received for the cost. It always goes well beyond our expectations.
Q5:
If someone is on the fence about working with me, what would you say?
BCAE:
If you’re on the fence, I’d say go for it. Christina has a real gift for creating a relaxed, comfortable environment - even for people like me who usually hate having their photo taken. The experience felt easy and natural, and the results are outstanding. The quality of the images speaks for itself, but what really stands out is how she’s helped us shape a style that feels authentic and true to our business. We wanted relaxed, approachable photos, and with Christina’s guidance we’ve developed a studio look that feels both professional and very ‘us’. You’ll come away with photos that not only represent your business beautifully but also capture your personality.
